A great 5K race in North Andover to celebrate the 250th Anniversary of American Independence! It was a warm one, no attempt at a PR. The lead up focused on hydration and trying to loosen a cramp I woke up with. There was a kid's fun run which had lots of great energy. And then during the race there were a few spectators with some hoses spraying over the road to cool down runners.
I felt strong the whole race, except at the last 1/10 of a mile where I felt I was going to upchuck my pre-race water. Luckily, I was able to hold it together for the last few meters and had a great finish. There was a costumed runner among the pack as well as some men carrying the American flag the whole race!
